The French team has in the space of two days won both stages at the Tour of Rwanda with Alexandre Geniez and Sandy Dujardin, and took a surprise podium spot inbetween world-class competition at the Vuelta a Andalucia with Cristián Rodríguez.
Over at the Vuelta Andalucia this past week there has been a lot of agressive racing as the five days of competition all featured complicated ascents that were used to create damage in the peloton. As most eyes were layed on the battle between Bahrain - Victorious and Astana Qazaqstan team, not many noticed the surge of local rider Cristián Rodríguez who rode under the radar for a lot of the race but ended it on the final podium just behind Wout Poels.

The 26 year-old has put on a string of strong and consistent performances throughout the week to get himself on the fight for the overall classification and has given TotalEnergies important points for UCI rankings, of which the French team is eyeing wildcards for next season.
Rodríguez was the winner of last year's Tour of Rwanda, where currently the team has been dominating by winning both stages so far. The eight stage event in Rwanda has gained a lot of popularity in the last few years and has attracted some high level teams, with TotalEnergies being one of them with a lineup of five riders.
Alexandre Geniez won the opening prologue in Kigali and today in the first sprint stage into Rwamagana neo-pro Sandy Dujardin has taken the win. With six stages remaining the French team have the opportunity to gather more success, as they will at the same time seek to protect Geniez's yellow jersey.
