Starting the day with five riders in the top 11,
INEOS Grenadiers saw two of their men fall out of GC contention following a crash on a day of bad luck on stage 11 at the
Giro d'Italia.
“Normally it would be a long ride but one where there was no danger, although there was the bad weather. But this has turned out to be a very bad day for us," said
INEOS Grenadiers's sports director Matteo Tosatto following the stage. "We lost Geoghegan Hart, Sivakov fell hard and Thomas also fell to the ground. That's sport, but I'm disappointed for Geoghegan Hart. He was in top form."
