We're gutted to see @taogeoghegan forced to abandon the #Giro following a crash on stage 11. The Brit will head to hospital for checks and we will have further updates in due course.
After the eleventh stage of the 2023 Giro d'Italia, a notable absentee from the top 10 is Tao Geoghegan Hart, one of the great favourites to win the Maglia Rosa in Rome. Sadly crashing out of contention and out of the race.
Another INEOS Grenadiers rider was also affected, Pavel Sivakov reached the finish line very hurt and lost a lot of time in the general classification. Thus, the Portuguese Joao Almeida returns to third place in the standings. Andreas Leknessund, Damiano Caruso, Lennard Kämna, Eddie Dunbar, Thymen Arensman, Laurens de Plus and Aurélien Paret-Peintre complete the top 10. The Belgian's entry leaves INEOS Grenadiers still with 3 riders in the top 10, although Tao's loss is undoubtedly very hard. And Sivakov's also hurts... Horrible day for the British based team.
