Thibaut Pinot is on his farewell tour as a professional bike rider. Having announced this will be his final season battling out in the peloton, Pinot is determined to enjoy himself and "thrill the public" in the process.
With a series of home races coming up, the Groupama-FDJ man wants to give his all to ensure that the racing his fellow Frenchman witness will be exciting. "I'm very happy to be able to compete in these races 'at home'," the 32-year-old explains. "I like the routes, with three summit finishes. For my last season, I couldn't miss this meeting."
The three races Pinot is talking about are the Classic Grand Besançon Doubs, Tour du Jura Cycliste and the Tour du Doubs on three consecutive days from the 14th to the 16th of April. So does Pinot thing he can contest the victory in these races?
"Of course, the icing on the cake would be to win one but we must not get the wrong objectives," he explains. "I am preparing for the Giro. In any case, I will fight on my land, I will take advantage of it and I hope to thrill the public"
