The former youth coach that sexually abused Sir Bradley Wiggins when he was a child has now been named thanks to another victim of the predator speaking out about his experiences.
Stan Knight passed away in 2003 but according to these latest reports, the man who had only ever previously been referenced by the former Tour de France winner using his first name has now been identified. The new allegations by another of Knight's former victims alleges that the former British Cycling coach went "way beyond the boundaries" and would put his fingers "into places that you didn't want to."
When allegations were made at the time Knight was still alive, Wiggins kept quiet, believing his cycling dreams may have ended prematurely if he had spoken up. "Nah, nah, of course he didn't," a 23-year-old Wiggins said when his mother received a letter from British Cycling addressing a similar complaint by another of Knight's alleged victims.
A British Cycling spokeswoman told the Times: "Abuse of any kind has no place in sport. We urge anybody with concerns about non-recent or current abuse to report them... directly to the British Cycling safeguarding team."
