Profile. On the 16th of April the female peloton will take on Amstel Gold Race Ladies, the first of the three Ardennes classics which will see the world's best climbers and puncheurs fight for one of the most prestigious classics.
The 155-kilometer long race sees the roads of Valkenburg on display. It's the hilliest area of the Netherlands and it's quite apparent why it's one of the Ardennes classics. The race will have tough climbs early on, but should be decided in the final four-lap circuit. This includes the Geulhemmerberg (800 meters, 6.4%), Bemelerberg (700 meters, 5.3%) and the Cauberg (600 meters, 9.2%), before the finale in Berg en Terblijt.
