PREVIEW | Grand Prix de Denain 2024 - Can Arnaud De Lie return to his winning ways in the cobbled classics?

On the 14th of March the peloton in France tackles the Grand Prix de Denain. This is a race that is a relative warm-up for Paris-Roubaix, the one-day race features plenty flat cobbled sectors that make the race interesting every year. We preview the race ahead.
The race is almost completely pan-flat and often it ends in a sprint. However there are plenty places for riders to do damage; the race features 12 cobbled sectors and all are in the last 85 kilometers of the 199-kilometer event - which starts and finished in the city of Denain.

- Good news. I’ve done two weeks of riding there between 1200-2200 and never once noticed being at altitude (but did see benefits upon returning) except on a hike after the two weeks feeling a little nauseous half an hour around 3400 but then nothing anymore all the way up to 4500. I once heard altitude sensations are less intense near the equator but can’t find much to support that.Mistermaumau17-05-2025
