OFFICIAL: Italian climbing supertalent Giulio Pellizzari's move to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe confirmed

It's been a public secret since last year's Tour de l'Avenir where Giulio Pellizzari some epic mountain battles with the Mexican super talent Isaac Del Toro, that the Italian would join Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe from 2025 and the news were finally made official on the second day of this year's transfer window. The exact length of his contract was not communicated.

Second in a stage at the Giro d'Italia, second in the fight for the Giro maglia azzura, third in the Tour of Slovenia, top 10 in the Tour of the Alps and the Tour of Austria - Giulio Pellizzari is having a sensational season and there is no wonder multiple teams went out of their way to see whether they could change the Italian's mind.

After two years at the Italian PRT formation VF Group-Bardiani-CSF-Faizane, Pellizzari is looking forward to what he can achieve at the very ambitious German WorldTour team. "I am very happy to be part of the new Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe project. I can't wait to start working with the new team and achieve great goals together," he expressed in a press communication.

"Identifying and developing talent is at the forefront of our vision, and our 2025 transfers demonstrate this," team manager Ralph Denk thinks. "Despite his young age, Giulio has already shown his climbing potential in big races. We want to build on this with our performance structure and take the next step in his development as a top rider."
