We are into August and that means the cycling transfer window is open. Although most moves won't actually take place until the end of the season, August 1st means the window for officially confirming those long rumoured transfers has now arrived.
One deal that has not seen any confirmation as of yet, is the future of 29-year-old Danish rider, Kasper Asgreen, who is into his contract year at Soudal - Quick-Step and has been left out of both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France lineups for 2024.
Speaking to the respected journalist Daniel Benson, Soudal - Quick-Step's outspoken and often controversial team boss Patrick Lefevere again made no attempt to keep his cards close to his chest when asked about the future of the former Tour de France stage winner. "Asgreen? I'm afraid he'll leave us," Lefevere admits, even suggesting he knows where the Dane's future will lay. "I thought he was going to Uno-X Mobility, but I think he is going to the Tudor Pro Cycling Team."
As mentioned, nothing is yet confirmed in regards to Asgreen's future. When approached for comment by Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet in regards to his future however, the 29-year-old, who has been with the Quick-Step set up since 2018, denied any move was confirmed.
Uno-X Mobility also denied their interest in the Scandinavian in comments to Ekstra Bladet, with according to Benson at least, Asgreen's future most likely seeing the Dane head to either the aforementioned Tudor Pro Cycling Team, or the British based INEOS Grenadiers.
