Nairo Quintana sinks in UCI rankings, Richard Carapaz best-placed rider in Pogacar-led standings

Another week the UCI rankings have been updated and Nairo Quintana continues to sink to the bottom of the rankings. The Colombian rider has only competed for his country since he tested positive twice for tramadol during the last Tour de France. He continues with his UCI card, however, which is why he was able to participate in the Colombian nationals and appears in the ranking.

Thus, not having raced since last fall the World Championships in Australia, in which he dropped out, and the 2023 Road Nationals, in which he finished third, together with the fact that he was eliminated for the positive test in the last Tour de France, he appears in the 644th position with 95 points in a classification led by Tadej Pogacar with almost 6000 points.

The first South American is Richard Carapaz in 30th position and the first South American Daniel Martinez, 36th. Egan Bernal is in 2067th position with 10 points after having raced practically nothing since his hard crash last year.
