Movistar rider Iván Sosa assaulted with gun whilst training in Colombia

Iván Sosa has been assaulted by a truck driver this Thursday. The Movistar Team rider was training in Colombia when he was attacked with a gun, being hit in the face.

"We confirm that Iván Sosa was treated for chin injuries at a medical center in Fusagasugá (Colombia), his place of origin," Movistar Team said in a social media message. "After the incident suffered this Thursday. The Movistar Team cyclist has remained conscious at all times."

In pictures shared over social media it is possible to see the Colombian with a wound in the chin. It's said he was attacked with a revolver and then taken to the hospital where he received treatment to the wound.

Sosa as been for several years a key part of the Spanish team, regularly succeeding in the mountainous races. He most recently raced the Tour de Langkawi, where he won the overall classification.
