Mikkel Honore "taking some time to rest" after being involved in same Liege-Bastogne-Liege crash as Tadej Pogacar

Whilst Tadej Pogacar crashing at Liege-Bastogne-Liege garnered all the headlines, Mikkel Honore was also an unfortunate victim of the incident. Thankfully no major injuries for the Dane who is taking time to rest up and recover.

"Thank you for all your messages and wishes of support after my crash at Liége," the 26-year-old revealed in a post to his official Instagram account, reassuring fans of his condition. "I spoke to Tadej Pogacar and wished him the best for his recovery as well. That’s cycling. I’m okay."

Thankfully for the EF Education-EasyPost man, there were no major injuries. "I have a concussion and some road rash, but am just really happy that nothing worse happened, since it was a really high-speed crash," Honore reveals. "I’ll now take some time to rest and recover and will get back to training when I’m fully recovered.

With the next scheduled race for Honore on Pro Cycling Stats, being the Tour de France, the race against time is now on for the former Itzulia Basque Country stage winner to be back fully fit, refreshed and refocused ready for the three-week stage race.
