Matteo Jorgenson abandons Tour de France with muscular injury and saddle sore

Movistar Team sees the abandon of it's second leader this morning. After Enric Mas, Matteo Jorgenson has abandoned the Tour de France suffering from a muscular injury to his left thigh and pain in the saddle area.

The Spanish team hoped the rest day would see an improvement in the health of the American rider but that proved not to be the case, he will not start the time-trial on stage 16. Jorgenson most notably rode to a fourth place on the Puy de Dôme stage, leading the stage solo for large kilometers before being overtaken inside the final kilometer. Days later he also finished fourth on stage 12.
