Marc Hirschi and Juan Ayuso one-two Drome Classic in impressive fashion

UAE Team Emirates have dominated the weekend of racing in France. After winning the Faun-Ardèche Classic, Juan Ayuso rode to second place at the Drôme Classic, only behind teammate Marc Hirschi.

The two had numerical advantage towards the end of the race and took advantage of it. The duo rode together over the main climbs of the day with Mattias Skjelmose, Warren Barguil, Mattias Skjelmose and Bastien Tronchon.

However having two riders, the Emirati team managed to play with their numbers. In the final kilometers Hirschi launched an attack before the final hilltop, and had the legs to take a strong solo win.

Ayuso won the sprint for second place behind beating Maxim van Gils who concluded the podium.
