The riders of Lotto Dstny will no longer race on Ridley bicycles in 2024. The Belgian formation and the bicycle manufacturer are separating after twelve years – despite an ongoing contract.
“Ridley is lagging a bit behind in terms of innovation,” writes Het Laatste Nieuws. Lotto Dstny, for example, was not be happy with the new Dean time trial bike.
At Ridley, the break with Lotto Dstny is denied and dismissed as a rumor. Reference is made to the current contract up to and including 2025. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, talks are still ongoing between the two parties, but the break is indeed a fact.
The team does not yet have a new bicycle manufacturer, but sports manager Kurt Van de Wouwer and Chief Business Officer Yana Seel have been spotted in recent weeks at the Italian Wilier (currently the bicycle supplier of Astana Qazaqstan) and the American Cannondale (EF Education-EasyPost rides on Cannondale bikes).
