Lenny Martínez makes history as he becomes Vuelta a Espana's youngest ever red-jersey wearer - toppling Indurain

Miguel Induráin won 5 Tour de France and 2 Giro d'Italia during his extraordinary career. However, he failed to win the Vuelta a España. However, until yesterday he held a record that no one had managed to beat: being the youngest rider to wear the leader's jersey (today red and in those days yellow).

In the remembered edition in which Perico Delgado dethroned Robert Millar in the incredible penultimate stage finishing in the Dyc Distilleries, a very young Miguel Induráin took the lead of the Vuelta after the third stage. On April 25, 1985, Sean Kelly won the day in Orense and Induráin entered the leading group, which allowed him to take the lead. 38 years later Lenny Martinez has dethroned him as the youngest rider to place first in the Vuelta. Miguel held the lead for 4 days, we'll see how long the young Frenchman from FDJ can hold on.
