After edging out Thibaut Pinot and Nans Peters for the victory at the 2023 Tour du Doubs, Cofidis's Jesus Herrada has lauded praise on his teammates and thanked them for their collective efforts.
"My success is above all the result of great collective work. Throughout the day, my teammates gave of themselves and did everything to ensure that I approach the final in the best possible mood," he revealed in a post-race interview with his team's official website. "I am very happy to this victory, especially since it's my second of the season. And I hope there will be others in the coming weeks and months!"
Meanwhile, Cofidis sports director Jean-Luc Jonrond also spoke of his delight after an incredibly successful few days for the French based team. "Today (Sunday), it was first Rémy Rochas, who was ill and hadn't raced the day before, who did a very good job of closing the gap with the breakaways. On the final climb, François Bidard and Thomas Champion placed our two leaders, Guillaume Martin and Jesus Herrada well," he explains.
"Despite the cool temperatures and the fog, Jesus managed very well in the final before winning," Jonrond continues. "Guillaume finished just outside of the podium in 4th but he was racing for 2nd place. We can only be delighted to end this beautiful weekend in this way!”
