After a strong start in the
Volta a Comunitat Valenciana, Danish veteran
Jakob Fuglsang is confident ahead of his first big goals of the season.
“I’m super happy with how the race went and the feeling that I had and also really happy with how the team raced. We raced as a team and the help and support I got from the guys was great,” Fuglsang added.
After a consistent race Fuglsang finished sixth in the overall classification, as he came home alongside Enric Mas and Alejandro Valverde on the opening day, and then finished sixth on the queen stage where
Aleksandr Vlasov dealt the decisive blow on
Remco Evenepoel. Besides the Ardennes, the
Israel - Premier Tech leader has more goals in mind for this first part of the season.
“Now, I’ll have a good week home and then I’m off to Ruta del Sol. Hopefully my shape will continue to improve and I can get an even better result there. The goal is to keep improving my shape ahead of my first big objectives, Strade Bianche and Tirreno – Adriatico.”
