Israel - Premier Tech and Women's Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad announce collaboration

Israel - Premier Tech announced today it's partnership with the Swiss Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad

Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad, a women's team in it's first year at the World Tour level has had the Israeli team approach and form a partnership. This makes Israel - Premier Tech another World Tour team with a project in the women's peloton in what they hoped "will become a long-term collaboration".

This means only six men's World Tour teams aren't associated with women's projects, which are: AG2R AG2R Citroën Team, Astana Qazaqstan Team, Bahrain - Victorious, INEOS Grenadiers, BORA - hansgrohe and Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux.

“The announcement of this partnership with Israel – Premier Tech marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad. We have always believed in a step-by-step approach and, thanks to our new partnership with Roland, we were able to step up to the UCI Women’s WorldTour level in 2022 as Switzerland’s first women’s WorldTour team. Now, with Israel – Premier Tech joining as our sponsor, we have an even brighter future ahead of us. I am very happy with this Swiss – Israeli – Canadian partnership which will be rich in shared cultural knowledge and see wonderful progress in the development of our young riders undertaken by passionate people like Sylvan [Adams], Jean [Bélanger] and myself,” said Ruben Contreras, founder of the Swiss team.

The team's new name should be Team Roland Cogeas Edelweiss - Israël Premier Tech. As pointed out in the announcement, the "Roland Cogeas Edelweiss Squad will start the 2022 season on February 17 at Setmana Valenciana-Volta Comunitat Valenciana Fémines, where their new kit featuring the Israel – Premier Tech logo will make its race debut."
