Mark Cavendish wins stage 2 of the Tour of Oman

The British sprinter got the best out of Fernando Gaviria on this second bunch sprint to take his first win of the season, putting his winter injuries behind him.

Only two riders braved up to form a breakaway today as Stephen Clancy (Team Novo Nordisk) and Antonio Angulo (Euskaltel-Euskadi) took the responsability, their effort was naturally too unlikely to succeed as the peloton easily brought them back in sight of 30 kilometers to go, led mostly by Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl and Team BikeExchange - Jayco, who then also caught with 15 kilometers to go after the Burgos-BH rider launched a solo move.

No images of the race have been shared, however on the line it came down to a bunch sprint where Mark Cavendish was the fastest and took the win, beating Kaden Groves and Amaury Capiot on the line.
