The
Tour de l'Avenir has taken a big turn on the final day. 19-year old
Isaac del Toro has won the overall classification following a daring downhill attack where Matthew Riccitello could not follow, a first for Mexico at the Tour de l'Avenir.
Del Toro capitalized on a risky move which saw
Giulio Pellizzari - who won the final mountain stage - and
William Junior Lecerf included. The trio finished first, second and third and climbed in the GC whilst former leader Matthew Riccitello was left isolated, and despite his best efforts he could not close the gap that had opened.
