The national championships have it's climax this Sunday and in a short space of time we have got plenty new champions to celebrate. This includes both men and women, both expected and some surprise victories...
On the men's side we've got
Mathias Vacek now conquering the road race title to add to his time-trial triumph;
Rafal Majka taking back the Polish title, a meaningful win after years of consistent and quality domestique work; and in Slovakia
Lukas Kubis has defended his title successfully and will continue to wear the country's colours for Unibet-Tietema Rockets.
On the women's side there was a surprise in Belgium as
Justine Ghekiere soloed her way to victory and will be wearing the country's colours for the next 12 months; SD Worx have gotten a double win in Hungary and Luxembourg with
Blanka Kata Vas and
Marie Schreiber who translate their success in cyclocross to the road; In Great Britain it was
Millie Couzens winning the race in a short group sprint against Georgi Pfeiffer and Anna Henderson; and in Spain
Sara Martin beat Mavi García to take the national title.
