INEOS Grenadiers gives Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas leadership for Volta a Catalunya

INEOS Grenadiers have fallen behind the likes of Team Visma | Lease a Bike and UAE Team Emirates in stage-races... They continue to give opportunities to their leaders who have some years ago thrived and led the team; to the Volta a Catalunya Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas lead the way.

The British team is aiming for success in the overall classification, obviously. Egan Bernal has shown good signs of improvement recently; at Paris-Nice he even looked to be in the fight for victory but did not have the best legs in the final weekend and rode to seventh in the overall classification. Nevertheless he can aim for a result just as good here, or perhaps better as he builds form into the spring.

Geraint Thomas started his season at the Volta ao Algarve and has been in domestique role throughout his first races, he may have the same here but as the Giro d'Italia comes closer, he could potentially also fight for the overall classification. Laurens de Plus would be a third option, whilst the the lineup is complete by Ethan Hayter who will hunt victories in the springs; Brandon Rivera, Salvatore Puccio and Oscar Rodríguez.
