Caleb Ewan 'has the choice' if wants to stay at Lotto-Dstny, says team boss Uncertainty over sprinter's future remains but team believe Ewan is talking to other squads globalcyclingnetwork.com/racing/news/ca…
Caleb Ewan's management is looking for the best option for the sprinter for next season. His agent Jason Bakker has informed GCN of this.
"The situation has not changed," says Ewan's manager. After the Australian gave up in the Tour de France, some mud was thrown and team boss Stéphane Heulot informed WielerFlits that Ewan was free to leave. Lotto Dstny, despite a contract until the end of 2024, would not lie down for that. Ewan hasn't played since then.
"Both parties are open to multiple options, as long as they work together. We are not going to make decisions in panic," says Bakker. "I seriously believe that Caleb and Lotto Dstny can restore relations. But if there is a better scenario for both parties, we will also look at that option."
According to CEO Heulot, the ball is in the Ewan camp's court. "He has the choice to decide on this. I have had no further information from his management, so I assume they are looking for a new team," he told GCN.
