Young French rider
Paul Penhoët has been confirmed to sign for the
Groupama - FDJ team after two and a half successful seasons in the team's development ranks.
Penhoët, 20, has over the last seasons been one of the most successful under-23 riders. In 2021 he has won the Tour d'Eure-et-Loir alongside a stage, aswell as a stage in the L'Etoile d'Or. He finished eighth in the U23 World championships.
Penhoët has raced for the Elite team this year already, finishing all three bunch sprints inside the Top10. He's won a stage at the Tour de Normandie alongside the points classification, and has been very consistent inside of the French domestic calendar aswell as some under-23 competitions. He will be joining the team from August 1st in a mid-season transfer, and will have a contract for two more years until the end of 2024 where he is set to become one of the team's main fast men.
