I’m not watching cos there’s zero excitement in knowing the result, barring accidents, beforehand. He’s an unbelievable cyclist, etc but there’s plenty things in life to do, and watching Pogacar destroy the opposition whenever he feels like it, and with nobody remotely threatening himwhenever doesn’t stand out as a very interesting way to spend my time. Of course I understand someone who wants him to win might find it great viewing, but not really me. Without excitement sport doesn’t do much for me.25-08-2026 21:43

Van der Poel has to be higher than Vingegaard there I’d say. Vingegaard counts as of now as obviously a superb grand tour rider but certainly not a stand out all time great - and doesn’t even meaningfully compete in for example Liege - while VdP does stand out as an all-time great Classics rider. You can’t just stack everything too much towards the Grand Tour riders.17-08-2026 11:27

People who can’t comment on any kind of forum - cycling, baking, whatever the hell - without bringing up Donald Trump, imagine what it will be like in the last moments of their lives . . . Still unable to think of anything for more than one or two seconds without obsessing over Trump. It will be interesting to see how they face up to that moment.
