Esteban Chaves is currently one of the leaders for EF Education - EasyPost specially taking into consideration the upcoming Tour de France, however things aren't looking very bright for the team whose lack of results is starting to see them in a dangerous position.
“I am still a GC guy, it’s a long way to the Tour de France and it’s a long list. Like every single team, you need to show you are good enough to go," he told VeloNews this week during the French race. The indecision on his presence at the Tour is far from the ideal mindset towards a possible GC tilt, however the Colombian has in the past surprised.

A new signing for EF Education - EasyPost, the American team are in need of results to prevent relegation and there are expectations on his shoulders to perform in France this week. “It’s pretty nice on this team. I spent a long time in one organization. It was a bit of a shock and I needed time to adapt to the new team," he said.
He's finished ninth last month at the Tour of Norway, and is currently sitting in 24th place after a modest result in the time-trial. However it will be this weekend in the mountains where he will look to leave a mark in the race.
