The
ZLM Tour started with a late-afternoon stage in Kapelle which very much resembled a criterium, with short distances and a very technical finish marking the first day in which the sprinters had an opportunity to succeed.
Olav Kooij was the man to beat and he made his presence felt at the race, taking the opening win at the race and becoming it's first leader.
The
Jumbo-Visma talent narrowly outsprinted
Jakub Mareczko towards the line, with
Elia Viviani completing the podium. This was the Dutchman's fourth win of the season, all of them since April.
