Daan Hoole wins Dutch time-trial championships by only 1 second! Riejanne Markus wins for Visma in women's race

The Netherlands anticipate a lot of big nations this week by hosting the elite time-trial national championships this Wednesday, and there have been surprises. Daan Hoole and Riejanne Markus will wear the country's colours for the next 12 months against the clock.

In the men's event it was an incredibly tight race which feature no big favourite. Daan Hoole of Lidl-Trek was the winner by a margin of only 1 second over Mick van Dijke of Team Visma | Lease a Bike.

In the women's race it was Team Visma | Lease a Bike taking a dominant win. With Ellen van Dijk injured and Demi Vollering on a bad day, the Dutch team finish first and second with Riejanne Markus taking the title followed by Lieke Nooijen. Vollering finished third on the day.
