Cofidis have their Guillaume Martin replacement! Simon Carr joins on three-year deal

The cycling transfer window is open and one of the teams that has been active with mainly with departures so far, Cofidis, have now made a big signing official: Simon Carr.

The 25-year-old British rider signs for 3 seasons with Cofidis, from 2025 to 2028, leaving an EF Education-EasyPost that has been his home since 2021. This year, Carr has already won a stage at the Tour of the Alps and the Trofeo Calvia.

In the communiqué from the French team, Simon Carr makes his first statements following his signing: "The project that Cofidis presented to me really appealed to me. I feel that the team's mentality, with this constant desire to perform, is close to mine. In addition, my goals were aligned with those of the team. I have already won several races among the professionals but never in the UCI World Tour," he reflects. "Having grown up near Carcassonne, I obviously dream of competing in the Tour de France and aiming for a stage victory, that would be the ultimate goal! I feel comfortable in mountain races and in breakaways. I also like time trials, which can allow me to make good places in the general classifications."

Cédric Vasseur, general manager of Cofidis, also wanted to talk about the arrival of Simon Carr: "Another great recruit for the Cofidis team! Simon Carr is solid, a rider capable of imposing himself on all terrains. He has already shown great things and we want to support him in his dream of shining on the roads of the Tour de France," says the Frenchman. "Simon is strengthening a 2025 team that will present a new face and a new way of racing. He will be able to fully express his talent, his audacity and his aggressive way of approaching each race to make the Cofidis colors shine. He is also a rider who was trained in France by Jean-Michel Bourgoin of AVC Aix en Provence with whom we have good relations. Finally, thanks to his time trial skills, Simon will also aim for the general classification of the one-week stage races. The whole team is looking forward to seeing him evolve under his new colors!"
