Jungels will be joining the German team after two seasons at
AG2R Citroën Team, where he mostly struggled to achieve good form. Besides the stage-races, Jungels has over his career also thrived in the cobbled classics and time-trials, fruits of his powerhouse stature. He will be another key in the engine of BORA, who look to make it a beneficial move for both sides.
Team DS Rolf Aldag has said that Jungels "brings an incredible amount of experience, but at the same time also a lot of potential" and that "his potential is not yet fully exhausted". BORA - hansgrohe are making the effort to continue having their depth in the mountains and the Luxembourger felt like a perfect fit. "We’d like to continue to add more depth to our squad to make it difficult for our competitors to predict our racing. Bob can certainly play a key role in important races as he is very versatile," he concluded.
