Movistar Team currently sit 18th in the UCI points ranking, just above the red line in front of Lotto Soudal and Israel - Premier Tech. With that pressure on, the Spanish team is hunting points, and will be aiming high at this week's Tour de l'Ain.
The three-day race starts today and will feature two days in the Jura mountains where the overall classification will be decided. The team will have two leaders in Iván Sosa and Antonio Pedrero who both went on to have modest results at the recent Vuelta a Burgos, but won't be alone in the objective.
Abner González will also be a possibility for the GC, having finished high on the highly competitive Volta a Portugal at this time of last year, and Gonzalo Serrano who can also perform in the more explosive efforts, and may be able to survive the not-so-long ascents that the French race has to offer. Imanol Erviti and Brazilian national champion Vinícius Rangel complete the squad in search of protecting their leaders.
Movistar Team for Tour de l'Ain: Iván Sosa, Antonio Pedrero, Imanol Erviti, Abner González, Gonzalo Serano and Vinícius Rangel.
