“Biniam is our leader. We try to achieve the best results as a team," says Performance Manager at Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, Aike Visbeek to WielerFlits. "Bini is super motivated. It is now a matter of staying calm and doing things right. Also, don't forget that Girmay will be up against the giants of our sport. He is also only 22 years old."

Despite only managing a single win in 2023 and the team having acquired the services of Dutch sprinter Mike Teunissen, Visbeek has reassured fans that Girmay is as good as ever.
"For us there is no need to panic. He also finished third and fourth in the sprints in Tirreno-Adriatico. He worked well on his form. Our conclusion is that he is at the same level as last year," Visbeek declares before sending a warning. "We also have Mike Teunissen , Taco van der Hoorn. If Biniam doesn't reach the level we'll try another way.”
