Tadej Pogacar finished fourth in the last Milano-Sanremo, the same result he achieved last year in the Tour of Flanders. In the classics the Belgian is a rider to be feared, but he doesn't dominate like he does in the stage races or the big mountain stages.
In the run-up to the E3 Saxo Bank Classic, the UAE Team Emirates leader says he has a good feeling after Sanremo and hopes to get a good result. His best form awaits him next Sunday in Flanders, as he pulled out of his plan to race Dwars door Vlaanderen.
"The plan today is to be up front, have a good feeling and ride as a team. I trained a bit afterwards and I'm ready for today but I hope to be even more ready for next Sunday," he told Eurosport this morning.
In a hurry to take the start in the E3, Tadej was expecting a very tough day due to the weather conditions. It's his first time in the Belgian race, but he knows that what will happen in the race will be similar to what happens in Flanders: "Today will be a very interesting race, it's my first time, it will be good, I expect chaos and a lot of nerves".
