- Narvaez put the hurt on Jonas, and then Tadej dropped him. Brilliant! Where was the powerful Visma team when they were needed most?…Off the back!
- Definitely, this Jonas is not the Jonas 2022. The Jonas of 2022 would have arrived with Tadej.
- Interesting theory. Jonas has definitely been less dominant since his crash compared to the 2023 version of himself.
- This stage clarified a lot of things:
-Tadej ok, climbed Hautacam in similar time than JOnas in 2022.
- but JOnas climbed 2 minutes slower than his time in 2022 (when he won).
-> It's Jonas "the problem".. I start to think that the crash in Catalunya has affected him permanently (lungs?) what a pity, really, really a pity.
-Visma "plan" was smoke. They knew that Jonas climbing times are bad then they try to win time in flat, they try to improve Jonas sprinting to balance the NOW less capacity to climb.
- He's not wrong. I don't get why other teams work for UAE.
- Surprising remarks by Remco. Yes, EF and Uno X were riding at the front along with UAE during the first part of the race, but that was in their own interests. EF were trying to defend the jersey, while Uno X were trying to ensure that Johannesen did not fall behind Carlos Rodriguez (who was in the breakaway) in the overall GC.
- Another thing, really surprised Tadej raced on his aero bike, he must really like it.
- I couldn't believe what I witnessed today, Visma destroyed themselves on the Soulor, no help for Jonas on Hautacam, not that they really could have helped much.
I guess they figured Tadej would stiff as board from his crash yesterday, interesting tactics. Tadej seems to be the best he's ever been while Jonas is sliding backwards a little.
Remco reminded me of a prime Valverde today, with him losing contact and then climbing back on to have a decent finish.
I wonder if Tadej makes it through unscathed and the winner of this Tour, what will his margin be to second place? It could be massive. I'm thoroughly entertained, let's keep it rolling boys!
- More unwanted advice on this site from an ex-doper!
- Stage 11 regrets? Give me a break...he got crushed today and in the first TT. Probably again tomorrow so stage 11 is not going to haunt him!
