Arnaud De Lie wins the Famenne Ardenne Classic despite pedalling final 100m with one foot unclipped

Arnaud De Lie has taken victory at the Famenne Ardenne Classic after a chaotic day ended in a bunch sprint finish despite pulling his foot out in the final sprint.

Six riders had formed the early breakaway of the day, but repeated attacks from the peloton ensured they were all caught with over 50km still to go. With just over 40km to go, two riders then countered clear, Yves Lampaert and European Champion, Christophe Laporte.

They couldn't last until the line though, and with 20km to go were back in the bunch. With no attacks really managed to break the elastic and the peloton narrowly avoiding disaster as a car found its way onto the circuit, a sprint decided the day. In that sprint, Kaden Groves launched first but Arnaud De Lie came around and looked sure to win but for a mechanical error, somehow holding on whilst pedalling one legged.
