Michał Kwiatkowski is at a crucial point in his sporting career as he approaches 34, an age when many athletes begin to feel the pressure of time and younger, bolder competition. However, Kwiatkowski remains a leader and key domestique in the INEOS Grenadiers team, capable of winning big races and guiding his teammates to victory.
"Despite being ten years since my World Championship victory in Ponferrada, Spain, I have no intention of giving in to time. I still feel competitive and determined to keep fighting in every race," Kwiatkowski said of his state of mind and his motivation to keep going in an interview with Cyclingnews.
The start of the 2024 season has been promising for Kwiatkowski, who has shown aggressiveness and determination in competitions such as the Vuelta Murcia and the Clásica Jaen Paraíso Interior, taking fourth and seventh place respectively. "I'm happy with my performance so far, but I know there is still a lot of work to do. I am ready for the challenges ahead," added the Polish cyclist.
With a strategic approach to the season, Kwiatkowski is preparing to take on challenges such as Strade Bianche and the Ardennes Classics before heading to the Tour de France and the Olympics. "I want to show that I still have a lot to offer in this sport. My goal is to be competitive in every race I take part in and contribute to the success of my team," Kwiatkowski said with determination.
His ability to combine his own ambitions with supporting his teammates proves his worth as a true leader and helper in the world of professional cycling. "I have always believed in teamwork and helping my teammates to the best of my ability. It is an honor to be part of this team and contribute to its success," concluded the Polish cyclist.
