- I don’t think you’ll find ANY ageing cycling enthusiast who hasn’t gone through this kind of “torture” at least once. As long as it’s not permanent you get over it. Get better safely, I may miss this season but am pretty happy my torn meniscus has healed itself (not a given closing in on 60) well enough to contemplate more racing next year. 2025 will be about recovery and testing but with a new child and heavy renovations I’m looking at it as the luck hidden in bad luck :-)

- Agreed, this is only marketing for a business. Back in the day, riders would just get in breaks to show off for the sponsors. I won't say cycling should be run differently but maybe those in power should explore different way of running things.

- Pog has the advantage of what he did last year, it’s up to Vin to prove himself this year so yes, he’s wise to avoid the Giro.
If he wins the first, the 2nd is irrelevant or a cherry on the cake. If he doesn’t it will be a consolation prize. Giro is also risky for other reasons if TdF is main objective.
2 angles not discussed by them obviously are also how to have managed a Giro with WVA and him with a WVA having personal goals and also expecting (rightfully) some consideration. Second is maybe JV feels some “revenge” is in order for having to take 2nd at 2023 Vuelta?
