- So many reasons but let’s be nice and just say, the system preys on the naïve and usually once you realise something is up you’re already compromised so unlikely to shout it out.
C’mon, how much did you know about how the world REALLY functions as a teen?
- Since over 30 years cycling has talked about little else. Maybe that didn’t reach your birthplace at the time and as you left when the brown stuff hit the fan there…
- Didn't enjoy it anymore, always will be 2nd behind tadej
- Go Lotte Go!
- He seems to enjoy all the attention he receives when he wins, and it would be strange if he didn't.
Preferring not to have to make speeches to large groups is a minor downside of being a double Tour winner for anyone.
- Literally
- That crash really messed him up and he was right at the end of his career as a gt winner. He had another few in him I believe but he just couldn't recover. Cycling is unforgiving.
- Rumors are out about the crash being fake to cover a doping ban. I Love Froome and agree I thought no question he would win a 5th maybe even a 6th.
- If you watched the whole sordid process, you would know that was not true. He was still quite heavy from triathlon (mostly swimming muscles, you can see it in his arms and upper body) early in his career but if I recall, he still finished 36th on GC pre-cancer without it really being a thing. Then he lost a lot of weight in chemo. In '98 he started the EPO and finished 4th in the Vuelta. And then in '99... What you said applies to any rider of that time. They all stood to gain from doping, but again, he was no nag pre-cancer/EPO. He was a talented athlete from his teen years. And no one really knows how EPO affected him except him and his doctor. People who hate on him say he gained more than others, but that is not a proven fact. The only proven fact was that he was an a-hole to a lot of people, then could not resist a comeback. I doubt without the comeback the USADA would have made a witchhunt out of it and he would be like Indurain, Riis, Ulrich, Delgado, Fignon et all--a known doper who still retain their title.
