Equipo Kern Pharma is returning to the Vuelta a España this year with dreams of taking a stage win. The Spanish team was awarded a key wildcard ahead of Burgos - BH and Caja Rural - Seguros RGA and will try to take full advantage of it with the '8' they have announced this afternoon.
Pablo Castrillo, the 23-year old who is rumoured to join INEOS Grenadiers at the end of this season, is the team's biggest hope. The Spaniard finished seventh at the recent Vuelta a Burgos.
It is a team that will have to carry modest ambitions as it lacks the riders to really contest with the World Tour teams. Urko Berrade, Jorge Gutiérrez, Unai Iribar, Pau Miquel, José Felix Parra, Ibon Ruiz and Antonio Soto complete the lineup that features four Grand Tour debutants whilst the other four have one edition under their belt.
