Tom Boonen presents first professional gravel team Classified x Ridley Factory Team: "We believe very strongly in the gravel scene"

Gravel racing is increasingly making its way into professional cycling, which resulted in the first professional gravel team on Thursday afternoon. Classified x Ridley Factory Team is the name of the new gravel team represented by Tom Boonen.

In addition to Dutch Piotr Havik who was already sponsored by Classified Cycling last year, the Belgian team will also enroll Belgian Daan Grosemans and the British Toby Perry, Annabel Fisher and Freya Rawlins.

The team is expected to ride a large international program with almost all the important gravel competitions, such as the UCI Gravel World Series or the Gravel Earth Series, but especially the Gravel World Championships in Leuven will be a major goal for Classified x Ridley Factory Team.

"Some major sponsors wanted to support the Classified Factory Team, which now allows us to strengthen our one-man team and move up a gear with Classified-Ridley," says Boonen at Belga. "We are at the start of a very beautiful story. We believe very strongly in the gravel scene and will continue to support it sustainably."
