Thibau Nys will skip Saturday's Superprestige in Ruddervoorde to prepare for Sunday's World Cup

Cyclocross enthusiasts who hoped for a new cross duel between Eli Iserbyt and Thibau Nys in the Superprestige of Ruddervoorde will be disappointed. The latter won't line up for next Saturday's cyclo-cross classic.

The 20-year-old Nys started the cyclocross season in spectacular fashion with victories in Beringen (Exact Cross) and Waterloo (World Cup). Last Sunday he also competed for victory in the first Superprestige cross of the season in Overijse, but lost his chances due to a crash in the last lap.

Nys will be back in the action again one day later, when the cross goes to Maasmechelen for the second round of the World Cup. The Baloise Trek Lions rider will also participate in the famous Koppenbergcross on Wednesday, November 1, his father announced via social media.
