Lars van der Haar times move to perfection to take victory at Exact Cross Beringen 2024

Lars van der Haar has taken victory at Exact Cross Beringen 2024 from Michael Vanthourenhout, although in truth, the race was overshadowed by a nasty mid-race spat between Eli Iserbyt and Ryan Kamp. 

After the first lap, Toon Vandebosch led the way, not by much though, ahead of the chasing group headed by Felipe Orts, Michael Vanthourenhout, Niels Vandeputte and Toon Aerts. With the pack still riding relatively close though, as they completed the third lap, no rider had been able to truly snap the elastic and build themselves a dangerous advantage. 

There was then a flashpoint as Eli Iserbyt and Ryan Kamp almost came to blows after a crash, with the former even stomping hard on the latter's bike and then remonstrating angrily afterwards. Up ahead meanwhile, Michael Vanthourenhout was leading the way with two laps to go. As they entered the final lap, it was Vanthourenhout in front by just a handful of seconds from Lars van der Haar, with Toon Aerts and Niels Vandeputte close behind. After a thrilling fight, it was eventually Van der Haar that prevailed ahead of the European champion, as Vandeputte completed the podium.
