- I disagree, because Simon won 2018's La Vuelta, and would have won 2018's Il Giro, had he not capitulated on Colle delle Finestre (the climb on which he recently redeemed himself). Adam has not won a grand tour, and it was because of his move to UAD that he got the chances that he has got, but ultimately, it looks like Adam Yates will not win a grand tour. In hindsight, it does seem strange that Simon did not move to one of the bigger teams earlier.
- It is usually that if a twin is talented, the other is aswell, but, in these three cases, they are of different strengths. Simon Yates (with 2 grand tours and 11 grand tour stage wins) is better than Adam Yates. Tobias Halland Johannessen is better than Anders Halland Johannessen. Ivo Oliveira is better than Rui Oliveira.
- No wonder it’s stretched out all over, racing at top 3 fastest ever stages after the week we’ve had is bound to make awho,e bunch of less fresh riders suffer.
Have to give it to MVDP, after his 170km 50km/h “solo” he’s animating things again. The GC riders will start hating him for encouraging higher speeds all round.
- So Vuelta was a rumour?
- Very difficult when there’s no trace or evidence
- What counts is money, The ambitions are secondary
- I don't understand why they weren't punished? Does someone actually need to get hurt? I bet if they had threatened another car driver, they would have gotten punished.
- Good to see Wout trying
- There are so many possibilities, why not wait until the race action has actually started to talk of outcomes? Everything depends on everything else in advance, and if the first week is anything to go by, things will play out in ways nobody wrote about in advance.
- Of course it’s not surprising, it’s alao pretty pathetic for this naïve article to call the request absurd. If you ask me they got away pretty lightly being allowed to continue their commercial presence without a fee but it makes sense too.
If you listen to music in your own home you don’t have to pay anyone for it, if you try to do anything commercial by integrating any form of protected music into your show, you’re supposed to pay for that right. Besides, in France normally you’d even have to pay a tax for making roadside publicity, all the TdF advertisers have to adhere to those rules, why should others be treated different? Imagine it was allowed, every Tom, Dick & Harry would start holding up business signs in the crowd, advertisers would start paying spectators to hold theirs or play sandwichmen, it would be chaos.
