Isabella Holmgren and Eric Brunner become Pan-American cyclocross Champions

While all eyes were on the European Cyclocross Champioships last weekend, the action also all out overseas the Pan-American Cyclo-cross Championships were held in Missoula, Montana, United States. Elite titles went to Isabella Holmgren and Eric Brunner.

Isabella Holmgren's victory among the elite women is even more impressive, considering the Canadian is still only 18 years old. However, Holmgren is known as a super talent, which she has already shown in several disciplines. She has already shown great results on the road, but for now she mainly excels on the cyclo-cross bike and mountain bike.

Holmgren was unmatched in Missoula. The very young Canadian managed to complete a longer solo with verve and won by almost a minute ahead of Clara Honsinger, the reigning American cyclo-cross champion. With Katie Clouse, also only 22 years old, there was a second American on the podium.

In the elite men's category, the gold medal went to Eric Brunner. It is the 24-year-old American's second consecutive Pan-American cyclocross title, because two years ago he was also the strongest in Garland, Texas. Then he defeated Curtis White and Kerry Werner, this time he was far too strong for Scott Funston and Gage Hecht.
