Davide Cimolai (34) and André Carvalho (26) will not continue in the Cofidis jersey next year. The Italian and Portuguese are not part of the selection of the French formation for 2024. It is still unclear what the future holds for Cimolai and Carvalho.
Cimolai rode for Cofidis over the past two seasons, but did not really manage to shine in the red and white kit. In his first professional years, the fast Cimolai won quite a few races, but he didn't manage to add up to that in the French team. However, he was important as a lead-out for Bryan Coquard, among others. This autumn, he also sprinted to fourth place in a Vuelta sprint and ninth place in Paris-Bourges.
Carvalho spent three years with the team, but never stepped out of the shadow of being a run of the mill domestique for his leaders during those years. The Portuguese finished fifth in the Paris-Roubaix U23 and Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23. Over past three years, 12th place from Vuelta a Espana remains his highlight.
While next steps of Cimolai's career remain unclear, as debates of the 34-year-old's retirement seem to come too soon, Carvalho seems to be on his way to one of the strong Portuguese continental teams for next season.
