Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal took a double win on the opening day of the calendar for the main figures in the Cyclocross field, as Fem van Empel took a strong and comfortable win at the Exact Cross Kruibeke.
The muddy conditions didn't allow for a compact race, as the Dutch youngster went solo off the front early in the race and built up a gap of over a minute which she could keep all the way to the line. Annemarie Worst and Denise Betsema rounded up the podium in the event.
