After gaining massive popularity over his content over on Youtube and reaching once again the level necessary to be a pro rider, the news that Youtuber Bas Tietema signed with Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB was widely cheered for and the Dutch rider's debut will come at the Tour of Antalya this week.
The 27-year old has been in the pro peloton before, namely with Irish An Post Chain Reaction team in 2017 and the Dutch BEAT Cycling club, both at continental level. However he is no stranger to the top ranks of the sport as in his U23 years he's raced with the BMC development team for several years where he teamed up with the likes of Pavel Sivakov, Nathan van Hooydonck, Pascal Eenkhoorn and many others who have later been signed into World Tour teams.
He currently runs the Tour de Tietema channel which has over 124.000 subscribers and features a lot of cycling content and professional riders in it, alongside Josse Wester and Devin van der Wiel. His first race in the team will be in Turkey's Tour of Antalya where he should be racing alongside Timothy Dupont and Stanislaw Aniolkowski in the sprints, in a peloton made up of an interesting mix of Pro Continental and Continental teams who will be fighting through the course of four stages.
