Fabio Jakobsen is through another tough day at the Tour de France. Together with fellow sprinter Caleb Ewan, Jakobsen had to let go of the large group at the beginning of the stage. Luckily their teammates brought their sprinters home with comfortable reserve to time limit.
"You hope that after a rest day it will be better, but it was a very bad day. I rode head over heels with Ewan for the entire stage, but I didn't like that," was the first reaction of Jakobsen at the interview with NOS.
"You start doubting everything. Your preparation, your weight: everything goes through your head. I know I don't really like it this way," he explained
Jakobsen was able to comfort himself somewhat with the thought that Wednesday could be a potential chance for stage success. "I was feeling really bad," he said first. "But: we're still here. I will keep going and do my best. This was my very best."
