Wout van Aert emerged victorious from the highly anticipated time-trial in the Belgian national championships, a crash took out Remco Evenepoel from the fight to victory and the Jumbo-Visma rider grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Over the 41 kilometers there was a lot of terrain to make the difference, and the World Champion crashing out ended the two-way battle that was expected to decide the title. Evenepoel rode to fourth, whilst Wout van Aert was joined by Alex Segaert and Rune Herregodts on the podium.
